Christmas Fayre

New report 17th Jan 2019

Bodmin Lions annual Christmas Fair held on 24th November 2018 was opened by Mayor Sara Kinsman, with some 33 stall holders taking part. Again this was a very successful event. Although the number of visitors seemed slightly down on previous years, possibly because of various other events taking place in the town, most stall holders reported a very worthwhile day.

The Dennis Smith Memorial Trophy for the best stall was judged by Mayor Kinsman and presented to Mrs. Val James of Plymouth by Dennis’s widow, Jo.

Several hundred pounds was raised towards Lions funds, which, as always, will go to local good causes.

Thanks must go to “The bingo ladies” who raised money on the day with a stall and a raffle, which will go to Lions funds.

Thanks also to Lions partners who provided and served refreshments on the day, but particular thanks go to all members of the public who gave willingly to the event.

Bodmin Lions Christmas Fair 2019 is provisionally arranged for Saturday 23rd November.
